bizarro, i love you, bizarro, i love you

new galactica season 1 is only 13 episodes, which is odd, but better than a 20 episode season split in half like the stargates. next week and next week 2 we get the 2 part season finales of sg-1 and sg-atlantis, while galactica’s 2 part season finale is next week 2 and next week 3. then they’re all done for awhile. if they keep to the schedule from the last few years, i imagine we’ll get new seasons of all three in the summer.

i give them no longer than until the new seasons start until season 1 of atlantis and galactica, as well as season 8 of sg-1, are on dvd.

opened up a ton of xevoz today, including the new runeslayer/firedrake 2pack i snagged from the elusive wave four. this line is nuts. what’s nuttier is that i keep coming up with warhammer 40k ideas using xevoz, and most of them are going to work. the hell? some of them will require a little paint or some new parts, but most of them can be had pretty easily with existing xevoz parts. granted, the designs are going to be a bit off, but the fact that i can even make something resembling a space marine, even if it’s just a scout, is pretty badass and speaks to how powerfully flexible this line is.

also opened energon grimlock and swoop, who are disappointing and lousy, respectively. ah well, at least i found them at retail. they look nice, i guess.

i still haven’t gotten caught up on toy fair news.

i want/need to live in new zealand. although the things i’d like about new zealand number few that can’t actually be found here in portland and surrounding area. so maybe i’m in the right place after all. still. somehow will vinton and gus van sant don’t quite compare to peter jackson and weta.

i was right, the life aquatic with steve zissou was a totally sublime experience. i can’t even explain how much i love it and wes anderson and bill murray.

the clone wars season 1 dvd can be had for $14 on amazon in about a week.

summer, i think — batman begins, war of the worlds, and the corpse bride
christmas — harry potter 4 and maybe king kong
next summer i think — transformers
probably christmas 2007 — the hobbit (technically unconfirmed, although if peter jackson doesn’t do this, he’ll wake up one night to an angry mob burning down his country…)
