a-f has a preview shot of the upcoming mignola styled hellboy from that line, which is due this summer. i can’t goddamn wait.
confirmed so far are hellboy and lobster johnson, and the fact that they’re not only making lobster johnson, but in the very first wave, speaks very highly that mezco Gets It and is going to get quite a lot of my money come this summer and forever after. i really really hope they make a gigantic rotocast mignola hellboy to rival the 18″ movie version.
kobayashi maru time. i really like my domain up there but it’s hard to type. i want to keep it but i also want something a little more user-friendly. for now i’ll stick with it, but i’m starting to wonder if maybe nyarlo.net will be my main page for everything, instead of just for cthulhu and pals…
then again, how easy is nyarlonet going to be for most people to remember?
goddamnit, i can’t remember how to spell kobayashi maru and it’s really bothering me.
i was at mcdonalds today getting some shitty fast food that i shouldn’t be eating. the double cheeseburger and the mcchicken are like, a perfect lunch, though, for only two bucks.
anyways. i was at mcdonalds and they just got in a pixar happy meal with two toys each from monsters inc, finding nemo, the incredibles, and i think a bugs life. none of them were very interesting except for the mr incredible. i asked which one they had. mr incredible! i had to get it. the articulation isn’t much, but the sculpt is really solid, the paint apps are solid, and he’s like five inches tall, which is HUGE for a happy meal figure. and of course, he was only $1.75.
now i need to track down the full set of incredibles happy meal toys they did when the movie first hit…
if you want sharpies, go to office depot. i was hoping they’d have a pack of the new sharpie minis in all 12 colors, and they did, for $12. now i just need to find a big ring i can put them all on that clips to my belt.
they also have two multipacks in either regular style or fine point, all 24 colors for $18 each.
technically, there’s more like 30 colors now, since in addition to the 24 main colors, there’s metallics(although i’ve only ever found silver, there’s supposed to be gold and bronze and maybe another one) and the new ‘wood grain’ sharpies for touching up furniture, which gives you dark brown, tan, and a nice cream. and the ten or so styles you can get most of those colors in…
i wish i was one of those people who could clearly remember what i’ve posted about in the past, or at least in the recent past. i’m always worried that i repeat myself over and over about the same topics. this is why i can never handle multiple online journals, and why i’ve mostly given up on the concept of having four or five blogs to talk about life, toys, comics and writing, and etc. hell, i can’t even really get the hang of sub-categories, since i’d rather ramble for awhile on multiple topics than make ten journal posts in one day on ten topics.
target is gearing up for the e3 bonanza and i can’t wait. they’re reorganize the action figure dept to make room, and that means a ton of stuff that wouldn’t normally be is on clearance. nothing of note, mostly stuff i didn’t want anyways, but i think because the e3 lightsabers are getting a new packaging style, all the otc/saga packaging sabers were clearance down half price to $10 apop. i’ve been meaning to get caught up ever since they reissued the original two from 95 or so; luke’s green saber and darth’s red one. so i did, and i got yoda’s mini-saber while i was at it. unfortunately yoda’s isn’t in proper scale even to the others, so it’s just a little shorter than most, but it does have a nice hilt design and it gives me the option of having one long and one short green saber.
of course, right now i don’t have low enough ceilings to swing lightsabers around. that’s actually something i’ll have to remember to check for when i’m apartment hunting this summerish. at the point that i have, what, eight of the damn things now? not to mention my fiveish custom nerf sabers that i’ve been meaning to finish since episode 1. i need to go down to hippo hardware sometime and find good parts for saber hilts.
now i’m good. i might get anakin’s e2 saber, but i can always pick it up later since i’m pretty sure they’ll all be on the market again in e3 packaging. all i need now is dooku’s curved red saber and maybe mace windu’s purple number.
my favorite out of all of them is the generic orange bladed one. that and my light-up sting sword from lotr.
i need to get one of the ridiculously cool neon-ish FX sabers they have on thinkgeek, and the fx sting while i’m at it. they’re not built for bashing around, but they light up much better and presumably have better sounds. technically the hasbro sabers aren’t built for bashing around either, but they’re only 20.
damn, if they did an fx glamdring i’d be in geek heaven. aka the poorhouse.

The FX `sabers are muy cool. A lot of the ‘Jedi’ had em at Comiccon. Dooku’s saber is a bit lame: it’s not as small, i.e. one-handed, as it should be, though it is about 2/3 the size.
And.. yeah! Lobster Johnson fig! My fave ghost ever!
