cold

the ramp-up to christmas, after it starts raining, getting cold at night, and dark earlier, is my favorite time of year. october and so on. the good holidays, the good weather, the good times.

go here and check out bengal, a totally wicked french artist i found on conceptart.org. he’s got a hybrid art style of european graphic novels and manga, and he uses digital paint techniques.

i’m trying to track down a copy of his two volume ‘meka’ graphic novel, but i’m not having much luck, given it was a french release. hopefully it’ll be imported.

i’d like to buy a couple of his prints, but they’re 40 euro each + shipping, and i haven’t got that at the moment. maybe for christmas. after i get a wacomm.

went with mom to walmart to help her use the kodak photo scanner/printer, and while they had absolutely nothing in their toy department, they did have a 5pack of the 5 new sharpie colors, so i get to start playing around with those this week. huzzah!

i also picked up some frozen white castle cheeseburgers. damn i wish they’d expand to the west coast.

i got the ridiculous 18″ mignola hellboy and it’s totally cool. pictures eventually. setting up a proper tiny photo studio for taking pictures of toys is one of an absurd list of things i need to do.

it occurs to me that whether mom and dad go to canada next summer or not, scott and annie probably won’t. and mom and dad probably aren’t either, given mom’s instability over long distances anymore. they’re more likely to go down to palm springs and visit bruce and michelle.

i’ll be eligible for a week paid vacation as of the first of january, so maybe i should start thinking about the sdcc this year.
