as pretty as an airport

they finished redoing the floors in lloyd center. the lower level has new tile, a nice earthy tan color, and the upper level has brown carpet. airport grade. it’s insane. they replaced half the benches with armchairs and coffee tables. it feels like a gigantic hotel lounge now.

some people consider portland to be part of a vast west coast megalopolis referred to as cascadia (scroll down to ‘cascadia: megacity’) stretching along i-5 from vancouver bc to eugene oregon. others, joel garreau in particular, consider alaska, bc, washington, oregon, and northern california to be one consistent sub-nation within north america, which he refers to as ecotopia.
