thanks to tru combining with amazon, i have like $300 worth of playmobil in my amazon wishlist. stupid playmobil. i want to get a bunch of their viking and construction stuff and make lotr movie sets.

the stargate and galactica toy licenses have finally been pursued. diamond select toys got the sg-1 and sg-atlantis figure license, which isn’t particularly promising, while art asylum just got the rights to make galactica minimates, which could be really cool. art asylum also has the rights to large-scale ships, which is totally wicked.

additionally, hasbro got the rights to make die-cast vehicles off sg-1 AND galactica, and both galactica lines will be doing modern and classic stuff. no word on actual galactica action figures, which may mean the company currently putting out mediocre classic figures has the modern rights, which would be a damn shame.

i would love for hasbro’s star wars crew to put out some galactica figures. an adama in scale with qui-gon and yoda would be terribly geeky, but awesome.

in other news, i had to put my paycheck in the atm last night because i got to the bank at 6:10, and it’s still pending, and it’s pissing me off because there’s no reason for it. and it’s making me worried that the bank is doing something wierd with my money. stupid banks.

i got issue two of the aeon flux comic adaptation because it has neat art. the story is completely different from the cartoons, and i still really dislike the movie’s trevor goodchild, but aeon is growing on me, and while the world is totally different, i think i like what they’re doing with it. hopeful for the movie.

i heard from a doom fan that doom sucks, and from a non-fan that it’s pretty good. i don’t know how i’ll react. i think i should probably go see wallace and grommet first. or serenity again. there’s something else out i want to see, i forget what. ah well.

kong is going to change my life.

weta has warehouse(s?) full of lotr stuff. once they finish the arguably theoretical hobbit movie, i hope they make a museum.

gavin has turned me into a mild hot wheels geek. i’m not one of the die-cast jerks who haunt stores at opening for new releases and push children over and all those horror stories, but i’ve bought half a dozen hot wheels in the last month, which is more than i ever bought as a kid.

it’d be easier if they wouldn’t make concept cars. and the keaton batmobile. and a scion xb wiht a clear plastic shell. and the dodge tomahawk concept…

i was going to buy the 1:18 die-cast tumbler batmobile, but on seeing it in person, i’m just going to get the giant action-figure sized one instead. it’s only $5 more at target and looks much nicer, oddly enough, since it’s all plastic.

found a playmobil set of a department store santa at kb for $7, and it’s awesome. santa, armchair, little boy, photographer, and a sweet christmas tree. my desk is decorated for christmas.

a concept worth pursuing occured to me recently, regarding making comics using action figures, with the pictures taken at an isometric angle, in carefully arranged environments to resemble zelda-style rpgs. the mass of playmobil sets now on my amazon wishlist may or may not be related to this idea.

Can you get direct deposit at work? If so, that’s the way to go. Direct Deposit is absolutely good for everyone.
