the powerpuff girls have been ‘re-imagined’ for japanese audiences as, i kid you not, ‘powerpuff girls z’. check the official site for character designs and check youtube for the intro animation.

i’m really not sure how to react to this. on the one hand, it looks kind of good and seeing the designs translated into this new style is interesting. on the other hand, the show was already perfect, so, yeah. at least it looks more compelling than the witchblade anime. although the bizarre anime adaption i really want to check out is the scifi version of the count of monte cristo.
