that’s cliffy b, he’s so hot right now

two hot games recently: guitar hero and gears of war.

guitars of war!

in this 3rd-person action-rythm game, you don’t shoot the locust, you rock them. you and your squad band-mates rumble across the wasted ruins of sera, looking for locust emergence holes, where you engage in over-the-top sonic combat with the invading alien menace.

(well, presuming they’re invaders, and that the plot wasn’t that they were already there when we colonized sera. and that sera was a colony of earth and not a parallel universe allegory for same. or whatever the hell was going on. really, it would have been nice to include that kind of information in the game…)

anyways. guitar battles would be fought with either fighting game style button combos or guitar hero style guitar controllers. either way, the optimal format is four-man co-op, playing through to the final battle of the bands with general raam and the theron guards.

huh. there’s a bunch of gears backstory on wikipedia. i wonder where it came from?
