house

so scott calls me up last week asking if i’m still interested in getting a place with him and annie. long story short, his temp job is 99.99% become a permanent position, so they’re looking into a better apartment. at their rent level of $1000ish a month, they can get a nice two bedroom apartment or a tiny tiny house in the middle of nowhere. but if we combine our forces to $1500ish, we can get a 3-4 bedroom house.

we’d talked about this before, and were all okay with the idea provided we could get enough space. so we looked at a couple places over the weekend to get an idea of what was out there. and one of them was opening march 1st, which was tight but workeable, and was awesome. so we thought we’d try. and monday the other people who’d been looking at it backed out, and tuesday morning we turned in our applications, and tuesday afternoon we got approved.

this is kind of par for the course for scott and annie, but this is a new experience for me and i didn’t expect it. i’m not complaining, of course. i get the upstairs, which is two open rooms and my own bathroom. essentially my own apartment, but with all the advantages of a house.

and half my belongings are already in clear plastic rubbermaid bins, so i have half as much packing to do as i ought to given how much crap i own.

pictures ensue.
