stargate is dead

long live stargate.

no more atlantis. i mean, yes, there are still 14? more episodes this season, and/or the announced two hour movie to finish it up, but that’ll be that. then stargate universe starts up.

it remains to be seen if this is a good thing. atlantis was always a bit spottier than sg-1, and it really took a nosedive in quality after the middle of last season, which is a shame, because they really hit their stride in season three. but just like sg-1 at the end, the disparity between the good episodes and the bad episodes became astonishing.

mike weiringo posted some great lost fanart on his deviantart, shortly before he died last year.

looking at his gallery, still wholly intact, with the latest blog post looking forward to another great year on deviantart, is kind of creeping me out.

the boy wonder

there’s some crap going around, even from nolan himself, about how robin could never work in the new batman movies. dean trippe has it all worked out.

he also did some totally sweet scott pilgrim fanart. also, everything he draws is magic.

crap

there are twenty two comics out wednesday that i’m interested, at least half of those i’d buy if i had the money. plus three trades hitting that i’m interested in.

average price $3 singles / $20 trades, that’s 120 bucks. ONE DAY.

god. i wish i had the money to keep up on comics still but even so, that’s excessive.

new information please, pot kettle, etc.

i was talking to jered at the end of the day last week, thursday i think? about a 3d rendered sidescrolling duke nukem game he’d really enjoyed on the pc. looked it up on ebay, one dollar new in jewel case, plus $4 shipping. so that arrived today.

toysrus cancelled my order for holographic general grievous. i bought orange juice. i’ll get holo-grievous on ebay for a bit more next week and it’s okay.

maybe i’ll hit the comic shop. at the least i need to pick up the reprint of ‘punisher kills the marvel universe’ by garth ennis. also the new issue of warren’s xmen. and all the stuff i couldn’t get last week because i bought five star wars figures online, only one of which has actually shipped.
