n-strike vulcan

so nerf is making a battery operated, tripod mounted machine gun that fires three darts per second.
belt fed.
i can’t even imagine what reloading this baby is going to be like, assuming you can even find all the darts.

sporecraft

apparently what i need out of spore is not a full game to plug creatures into, but a town where i can just have creatures i’ve created run around, be cool, and hang out. maybe acquire furniture and make them live together in house. train care bears to ride around on deep crows. [...]

no time for love, doctor jones

yes. hasbrotoyshop.com updated with upcoming figures from indiana jones wave two. (possibly three…)
colonel vogel with baton (this is how we say goodbye in germany!) and presumably a blank red armband.
elsa with false grail.
grail knight with sword, tomb shield, and the holy grail.
henry jones with briefcase, umbrella, and grail diary.

gametime

got my adorable orange japanese gamecube and gameboy player set up. i was worried about reports of the ‘frame’ around the gameboy image, but it’s totally cool. twenty options, number one is just the screen casing and blue shell of a gameboy advance, number 20 is a blank black frame. perfect.

beware of a handsome stranger

reviews of spawn.com figures previews presents:
Warriors of the Zodiac — hey, baby, what’s your sign?
okay, let’s start with the basics. this line looks incredibly similar to the 7th kingdom line by the four horsemen, who designed most of the best figures out of mcfarlane for several years, then jumped ship to mattel to work [...]

wiibles wobble

as it turns out, wii’s are going for $300ish plus shipping on ebay, or about $100 more than retail price. this is actually not bad, given that to get a wii at freddies last weekend i’d have had to go down on sunday morning and enter a raffle.
at least now we know where they [...]

flawless cowboy

i’m committing myself to the previous console generation, partly because i can’t afford all three new consoles, mostly because i can’t afford new console game prices(whereas i can absolutely afford last-gen markdown game prices), and partly because i already know the slimline pstwo, original xbox, and gamecube are potently reliable systems.
the 360 is made of [...]

almost too easy

reviews of spawn.com figure previews presents:
spawn series 34 - spawn classics — we ran out of new ideas so we’re just going to remake a bunch of old ones.
this is the second or third wave consisting of remakes of classic mcfarlane figures, although we’re using a pretty loose definition of ‘classic’. some of the [...]

use as directed

i realized today that most of my video game playing time is spent in gta and animal crossing. it’s most interesting because gta ostensibly promotes wanton destruction and self-interested mayhem and violence, reckless driving, and anti-social criminal behavior, while animal crossing is a life simulator that ostensibly teaches the value of honesty, community, and [...]

the savings are practically infinite

mega bloks flying dutchman. 250ish pieces, comes with firing cannons, cloth sails, and mini-figures of jack sparrow, davy jones, bootstrap bill, and a different monster pirate depending on whether you’re getting the pirates 2 or 3 edition. standard retail $60, on sale for $25. that’s 60% off. that’s ridiculous. that’s [...]
